Behind the Name

During my years as a missionary, I cultivated the gift of motivating kids to escape the trap of self-focused living and find true fulfillment by embracing gratitude and generosity. During that time, the verse in I Timothy settled on my mind and began to take root in my heart.

As I pondered the verse, faces of people came to mind—people who take hold of the life that is truly life—people who genuinely enjoy doing for others and are generous and willing to share. In contrast, daily I noticed people preoccupied with the “stuff” of self—paying bills, keeping up with kids, working long hours, managing busy schedules, acquiring things—striving to get ahead but always falling further behind... and I was one of them.

It was time to make different choices. These choices, while they have not always been easy, are giving me the peace and freedom to embrace the life that is truly life. A passion to help others do the same has taken root and grown into Truly Life Financial Counseling.
